NBA player uses platform to advocate for change
Justin Holiday ’07, professional NBA player for the Indiana Pacers, wrote a powerful open letter to the world. “More than ever,” he writes, “there is a dire need now to elevate my Black brothers and sisters, to use my platform to empower and elevate our people.” He continues, “We’re riding a historic wave of changes. And I’d like to be clear — I choose to stand on the side of history that facilitates change, real change, and that sparks a healthy dialogue, and establishes unequivocal support for our community in various capacities...I’m going to use my rights and unique platform to advocate for change.”
