The IDEA (Inquiry, Democracy, Equity, and Agency) Center seeks to create an environment in which Campbell Hall students, faculty, and staff are empowered to become change-makers, equipped with the necessary tools and support to turn their inquiries into impactful actions, and contribute to building a more equitable and just world. We strive to create a community that nurtures agency and civic engagement in all our members, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to incubate their social impact projects and make a difference in their communities and the world.

FOR THE COMMON GOOD

There is nothing more exciting than watching ideas come to life, especially when those ideas are centered on effecting positive change. The IDEA Center, as an embodiment of Campbell Hall's mission of nurturing decent, loving, and responsible human beings and anchored by the historical work and commitment to our Public Partnerships, will assist students, faculty, and staff in developing their ideas into meaningful commitments and actions. Finding solutions to real world challenges will build leadership and entrepreneurial skills, encourage partnership and collaboration, and expand empathy and connection as part of an essential spiritual practice. Our community is made up of courageous thinkers who want to make a lasting, positive impact. The IDEA Center will help them do just that.

INQUIRY

All good ideas start with a question. Once fully explored, these questions can lead to solutions to real world challenges.

DEMOCRACY

Civic engagement can lead to impactful social change. Fostering a sense of duty to our neighbors, both locally and globally, is essential to building community.

EQUITY

At the heart of positive change is a dedication to fairness and justice. Centering equity ensures that we meet the unique needs of individuals and groups.

AGENCY

Every community member has the power to take action on the issues that matter most to them. Cultivating agency empowers them to bring their ideas to life.
