Parent Education

Campbell Hall’s Parent Education Speaker Series programs brings together parents and other members of the school community with experts in a variety of fields to engage in timely, thought-provoking discussions that inform and enrich our relationships with ourselves and the children under our care. Participants should expect to take away with them important information, a stronger sense of community, and at times, a completely new perspective.

A Conversation with Jonathan Haidt, The Anxious Generation

School Speaker Alliance of Los Angeles (SSALA) is proud to present Jonathan Haidt, an internationally recognized New York Times best selling author and social psychologist, as this season’s kick-off speaker.

In his latest book, The Anxious Generation, Haidt explains why boys have been withdrawing from the real world, into a virtual one, and why social media damages girls more than boys. He argues that the "great rewiring of childhood" has interfered with Gen Z's social and neurological development, including sleep issues, perfectionism, attention fragmentation, and social comparisons. Haidt issues a clear call to action and proposes steps that parents, teachers, schools, tech companies, and governments can take to solve this current health crisis.
