Campbell Scholars Program

Our Scholars

Who are Campbell Scholars?

Campbell Scholars have demonstrated the aptitude, work-ethic, and character to make it to college, but they often lack academic resources, mentoring relationships, and access to information, primarily because they are not in regular or close contact with college graduates outside of their teachers. Students and parents are particularly open to our emphasis on parent education, social-emotional skill building, and mentorship.

"I truly love all the mentor staff at Campbell Scholars because they're inspiring. Many of them go to colleges and universities I dream of attending. They all encourage and motivate me to do well in school."

— Keyri

"What I love most about Campbell Scholars is the creative learning system and the caring adults around us. It makes us feel at home and in a safe environment."

— Bryan

"What I love most about Campbell Scholars is the foundation we give each other. We make so many memories and I just love the fact that we have so much fun while learning so many new things. Each day we experience new things and become even closer as a cohort."

— Johana

How are students selected?

JANUARY

Qualifying students are nominated by their 6th grade teachers and administrators on the basis of their work ethic, academic aspirations, and character.

JANUARY-FEBRUARY

Students, parents, and teachers complete a ten page application.

FEBRUARY-MARCH

All students and families are interviewed.

MARCH

Roughly half of the students who apply (20) are admitted each year.

What I love most about Campbell Scholars is the fact that I'm being surrounded by other kids who want to go to college, have a career, be successful, and do something with their lives, just like me."
