Charlee Corra ’09

CH Teacher Speaks Out in Support of LGBTQ+ Rights
When the “Parental Rights in Education” (commonly referred to as the ”Don’t Say Gay”) bill was signed into law, Charlee Corra ’09 felt compelled to speak out. The new law prohibits Florida’s public schools from teaching about sexual orientation or gender identity from kindergarten through third grade. Charlee, a Campbell Hall biology and environmental science teacher, is trans and wants to advocate for LQBTQ+ rights by fighting such legislation. Charlee’s family, including their mom and stepfather Roy P. Disney, grandson of the Walt Disney Company's co-founder and member of the CH Board of Directors, have announced they would match up to $500,000 in donations to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation's largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organization.
