Middle School Diversity Day and Into Action Day

Middle school students participate in Diversity Day and Into Action Day.
7th grade DIVERSITY DAY consisted of 10 unique workshops ranging from “African American Story Quilts” to “Tinikling”. Students were allowed to work with faculty in workshops on unique topics not covered during traditional classes such as “Woman v. Crime: The Woman Detective” or “Marginalized Groups and Stand Up Comedy”. Diversity Day aimed to encourage and inspire new thinking around diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.

8th grade INTO ACTION DAY was designed to empower students to present original research about global issues of interest, get feedback on their research, and learn about a variety of issues from their peers. Students presented on issues such as homelessness, labor rights, disability justice, mental health, and women’s rights, and will present original solutions to their topics.

Through meaningful and engaging activities, we are hopeful students will experience the value of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice work and build confidence in their ability to change the world for the better.
