Kirsten Caplan ’89

Searching for Liberty
As both an alumna and former faculty member, Kirsten Caplan ’89 says her experience at Campbell Hall helped her form an understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and justice issues. “This changed my life and now I am combining my love of theatre and social justice to educate, encourage, and empower people to create change for a more just society.” Her one-woman show, Lady Liber Tease, was awarded a Best of the Fest award for 2021 and centers on how she uncovered truths about her family’s history that forces her to wrestle with being white and female - of being both oppressed and oppressor. The show asks the question, “Is liberty for all, just a tease?”
