75 Acts of Good #75

2018-19  - A Great Year of Good!
The Campbell Hall community of students, parents, grandparents, faculty and staff joined together over the course of the 2018-19 school year to make a difference in the lives of countless people and worthy organizations across Los Angeles. Support came in many forms from service to donations and helped a wide variety of causes including homelessness, animals, the environment, and the victims of wildfires. Not to be forgotten were also kindnesses that were bestowed on members of our own CH community, from appreciation luncheons for faculty and staff, to posters encouraging others to be supportive, to baskets of treats made by students for the maintenance staff -- love and caring have been at the center of it all.
Below are some highlights, reminding us that we, as a community, can do so much!
  • 9 drives (including food, clothing, toiletries, toys, and even blood); 3 community walks/runs for charities; 11 sales run by secondary students raised more than $4,000 for a variety of nonprofit organizations
  • More than 21,000 hours of community service hours completed by High School students
  • 75 Middle School Junior Ambassadors volunteered their time to help out with Admissions and on-campus events and activities
  • More than 120 students participated in the Middle School’s “Make a Difference Day,” totaling almost 500 hours of community service collectively which supported 13 nonprofit organizations
  • The elementary school collected hundreds of bags of food during “Food on Fridays” which were donated to the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry
  • The CH community raised $12,900 for the Outreach Gift Fair; $1,800 for United Way’s Homewalk to help end homelessness, and $11,000 for our sister schools Haiti
  • Big Sunday volunteers assembled 2,000 toiletry kits, 2,000 underwear/sock packages, hundreds of soap packs, and hundreds of sandwiches to distribute to those experiencing homelessness; made dozens of dog toys for rescue dogs; made 75 blankets for children entering the foster care system
