Subjects You Teach:
I teach Music Theory and Jazz!
How long have you been a teacher?
I've taught private music composition, theory, and instrument lessons for 7 years. This is the first year I've had my own year-long classes.
How long have you been teaching at Campbell Hall?
I substituted at Campbell hall last year, and was given my own classes this year. I'm counting this year as year one!
What do you love most about teaching at Campbell Hall?
That's easy - the students! Not only are there are some absolute characters on campus, but the amount of love and support the students offer each other really is admirable and unique.
What do you love to do outside of school/what are your hobbies?
Outside of school, you'll most likely find me playing piano on stage or in a recording studio. I love supporting artists, I love performing, and I love sharing music with the world. When I am not playing an instrument or producing music, you can find me experimenting in the kitchen (mostly baking bread), running, meditating, teaching private lessons, or reading.
What is the most rewarding part of your CH day?
That's a tough question...Maybe it's when I'm walking through campus and I get high-fives from the students? Or maybe it's when a student asks me for help outside of class. There are many rewarding parts of my day but I have to say...when I've helped a student discover a new passion, or inspired them to dive deeper into a particular subject, I've done my job.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
If I could have one superpower, it would definitely be the power of flight. And not just any flap-my-wings flying...I'm talking point both hands in the sky, fly to India, Mexico, or Japan for lunch, and be back for 3rd block sort of flight.
