Random Acts of Kindness

The elementary school celebrated “Random Acts of Kindness” week which encourages selfless acts and promotes helping others. First brought to Campbell Hall by Mrs. Dillon, 2nd grade associate teacher + Elementary and Diversity Inclusion coordinator, the weeklong event raised awareness about how our actions can positively impact others. The members of the elementary school student council created posters for each grade level where students could post an act of kindness that they had experienced.
From the school’s youngest voices in Kindergarten to the elementary school leaders in 6th grade, kindness abounded. Some of the students wrote: “My best friend was in a fight, so I made her feel better and cheered her up.” “Someone thought about my hurting voice and brought me a lemon from his tree.” “My friend invited someone who was sitting by himself to our table.”

This is the third year the elementary school has celebrated this event and, with over 150 acts recorded, it was another great success. As Mr. Carr, 5th grade teacher + elementary school student council advisor said, “Campbell Hall students practice kindness every day. This was just a great way to see their caring hearts in action.”
