First Grade Supports The Seeing Eye

First graders are supporting The Seeing Eye for this year’s Outreach Gift Fair. In a recent chapel, they spoke about the importance of this nonprofit organization whose mission is to enhance the independence, dignity and self-confidence of people who are blind, through the use of specially training Seeing Eye dogs.
The Seeing Eye has been a pioneer in the guide dog movement since 1929. Each year, The Seeing Eye matches approximately 260 students with guide dogs in an intensive 25-day training program. Each partnership is based on the highest quality training for each dog and student. The Seeing Eye has also played an integral part in shaping public policy; guaranteeing access and accommodation to people who use service animals.

The Outreach Gift Fair is a way to choose meaningful, alternative gifts for family, friends, and colleagues during the holiday season while providing donations that make tangible differences in the lives of others.
