TELL US ABOUT CH TEACHERS AND HOW THEY HAVE IMPACTED YOUR ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE.
The notable thing about Campbell Hall teachers is that they radiate passion for what they teach, and it reflects in their students. Campbell Hall has teachers that make you fall in love with subjects that you’ve never liked before. Many teachers also connect their curriculum to our modern day, showing us how the material that we are learning can be applied outside of the classroom. At Campbell Hall, many teachers act and teach with compassion and empathy, being able to understand students on a deeper level than just academically.

HOW HAS BEING INVOLVED IN SPORTS PLAYED AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR CAMPBELL HALL EXPERIENCE?
Sports have contributed to a large part of my Campbell Hall experience throughout elementary, middle school, and high school. I’ve been playing basketball for as long as I can remember, and was so excited to begin playing school sports in 4th grade. Campbell Hall also gave me the opportunity to dabble in other sports as well: including volleyball, which I continued to play throughout middle school. Middle school served as a time of exploration for me, and I was able to also be involved in theater even during sports seasons. In high school, however, I decided to focus on basketball. Joining the varsity team as a freshman, my captains showed me kindness, and the importance of connection. As I entered 10th grade, I assumed responsibility as a captain. I was still young, but my passion for the sport and love for my team drove me to overcome any fears I had about this new leadership position. It was a great experience, as I learned a lot about myself and the responsibility that comes with leadership. It taught me about camaraderie, about being a positive pillar of support even when it felt difficult to. Playing in the CIF play-offs with my team are some of the best memories that I have of my time at Campbell Hall, as a lot of the high school came to show their support for us. We fell short of qualifying for the championship, but the entire experience was one I will never forget. I still think about the thrill and adrenaline from that night of the semi-championships. I still talk to my old teammates who have graduated since then.

Basketball has been something that I’ve been involved with for almost my whole life, but it’s not central to who I am as a person. After quarantine, my focus shifted, and I was able to explore my identity through other mediums thanks to the multitude of resources and opportunities offered at Campbell Hall.

WHAT ARE SOME OTHER ACTIVITIES YOU ARE INVOLVED WITH AT CAMPBELL HALL AND WHAT DREW YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THEM?
I’ve been a part of the steel drum orchestra for 5 years, and have been involved in the gospel choir since 5th grade. Singing is something I am very passionate about. I love music, and have been surrounded by it my whole life because of my family. I am also co-president of the Women’s Rights Club, and a co-chair of the Academic Honor Board. I am also a member of other clubs on campus, such as the Asian Affinity Alliance, Spectrum, and Elementary School Outreach. I enjoy working with kids as a counselor at Campbell Hall’s Creative Arts Academy over the summers. I think having a creative outlet is so important, especially for growing individuals who are still learning how to navigate through life.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT CAMPBELL HALL?
I love the nurturing community, it’s truly one of a kind. The school provides many resources and cultivates a safe space where students are able to explore a diverse range of opportunities in order to discover what they love and who they want to be pre-college.
