  23rd Annual Gospel Choir

  The 23rd annual Gospel Choir, led by Musical Director Stacey Dillon, Co-Director Tamara Dillon, Founder/Artistic Director Patrice Grace, and Producer Megan Zakarian Adell, was held on February 24.  With more than 220 students joined together in song and praise, the event was joyful noise indeed!

  CH Black Alumni Collective (CHBAC) 

  On February 21 the CH Black Alumni Collective (CHBAC) hosted a panel for students, parents, parents of alumni, and alumni to connect and network. Panelists were Jeremy Clark '11, Lauren Jones '10, Darius Ingram '00, Whitney Epps '02, and Ashly Thomas '04.

  Sensory Regulation and the Brain-Body Connection: Strategies to Support Self-Regulation at Home and School

  On February 21, the Neurodiversity Affinity Group Leadership Committee presented “Sensory Regulation and the Brain-Body Connection: Strategies to Support Self-Regulation at Home and School” with guest speaker, Lindsay Astor Grant, MA, OTR/L of Learning Redesigned.

  Black Jeopardy

  On February 16, In honor of Black History Month, the DEIJ team hosted Black Jeopardy for high school students, with categories ranging from pop culture to history to everything in between.

  Middle School World Culture Assembly Lunch

  The Middle School World Culture Assembly Lunch, held on February 1, celebrated the cuisines that represent all the world languages taught at Campbell Hall (French, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese).

  Mural celebrating Black History Month

  On January 28, visual artist and Elementary Science Lab Associate Javoné Williams, worked with students to paint a beautiful mural in celebration of Black History Month. Click here to watch a fun time-lapse video of the work being created!

  Visiting Artist Simon Goodman

  As part of the Visiting Artist Lecture Series, Simon Goodman, author of The Orpheus Clock, the true story of one man’s single-minded quest to reclaim what the Nazis stole from his family, spoke at CH on January 25.

  7th Grade World Religions Class

  Rabbi Bernhard taught the Torah to the 7th grade world religions class on January 19.

  DEIJ Dialogues: Hate Speech and Slurs

  The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Team (DEIJ) facilitated grade-level meetings to emphasize the importance of community values and how this should be reflected in language in peer-to-peer interactions and conversations both on and off campus.

  Reach Out: The Campbell Hall Gospel Choir Documentary

  We are excited to present this remarkable documentary, directed and produced by CH Board Member Tom Grane (Ella '20 + Julia '23) and executive produced by CH Board Member Michael Schlesinger (Cameron '20 + Brandon '23), showcasing the rich history of the Campbell Hall Gospel Choir.

  In December, nine CH faculty/staff/admin and four students attended the People of Color Conference & Student Diversity Leadership Conference in St. Louis, MO.

  Dia de los Muertos Artwork

  Elementary school students created beautiful Dia de los Muertos artwork which was proudly displayed throughout the hallways of the Garver complex.

  Poker Tournament

  The inaugural Poker Tournament in support of the CH Black Alumni Collective Endowment Fund was held on November 16.

  Native American Heritage Month

  Bulletin boards celebrating Native American Heritage month were on display in the elementary school and performing arts foyer.

  La Isla (Los Angeles Independent School Latinx Affinity)

  On October 23, Campbell Hall Latinx faculty, staff and student Anabelle P. ‘24 attended the La Isla (Los Angeles Independent School Latinx Affinity) conference at Crossroads School. It was a celebration of Latinx culture and community!

  Blessing of the Animals

  The annual elementary school Blessing of the Animals was held on October 18. Dogs of all breeds, guinea pigs, lizards, and even stuffed animals and photos of pets were blessed by Head of School The Rev. Canon Julian Bull and The Rev. Canon Norman Hull, Chaplain K-8.

  Latinx Heritage Month

  Many thanks to the members of La Familia who decorated campus in honor of Latinx Heritage Month (Sept 15-Oct 15), a time to recognize and celebrate the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of the Latinx community. Informative bulletin boards, festive piñatas, and flags representing Spanish-speaking countries around the world adorn campus.

  Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodríguez visits CH

  On October 12, Prisca  Dorcas Mojica  Rodríguez , a leading Latinx activist, writer, speaker, and founder of Latina Rebels, spent a day at Campbell Hall. She spoke at the high school chapel, met and mingled with members of Latinos Unidos, attended a faculty/staff mixer, and, in the evening, presented a Community Book Talk on her book For Brown Girls with Sharp Edges and Tender Hearts.

  Community Involvement Fair and New Parent Welcome

  On September 18, new and returning families gathered in the Garver Gym for the Community Involvement Fair and New Parent Welcome. Representatives from Family Affinity Groups greeted and informed participants about the benefits of these spaces for those who share common identities or experiences by providing support and connection.
