College Athletics

Although there are many measures of success and goals in the college process, at its core, the Campbell Hall College Counseling process fosters a sense of inquiry, reflection, self-awareness, maturity of mind, and a sophisticated skill set that are necessary in college and life beyond the undergraduate years. Campbell Hall students are encouraged to explore a wide variety of personal and extracurricular activities that bring them joy and enrich their high school years. We strongly believe that participation in athletics provides a wonderful opportunity for student-athletes to discover and develop strengths, character traits, and new perspectives that will benefit them for many years to come.

Campbell Hall student-athletes are encouraged to develop characteristics such as commitment, loyalty, self-discipline, integrity, humility, pride, respect for others and themselves, the ability to perform under pressure, and a strong work ethic. Campbell Hall athletic programs aim to challenge a wide range of athletes and impart the importance of leadership, ethical behavior on and off the field, and the spirit of sportsmanship. Many of our student-athletes emerge from their athletic experiences with a deeper understanding of the joys and challenges of competition, victory and defeat, the benefits of cooperation, and the confidence to make authentic and intelligent decisions.

The Campbell Hall College Counseling team is deeply committed to guiding, assisting, and advocating for student-athletes at all stages of the college athletic recruiting process in Division I, II, and III, as well as NAIA. Through specific programming for parents and students in all grade levels as well as individual meetings, we work diligently to inform student-athletes about the intricacies and nuances of the athletic recruitment process and the skills required to succeed as a collegiate athlete.

College Counselors assist student athletes by:
  • Determining the student-athlete’s level of interest in participating in collegiate sports.
  • Working with Campbell Hall coaches to determine the appropriate NCAA Division for the student-athlete to target.
  • Sending the student-athlete’s transcript to interested college coaches (with family permission).
  • Networking with college admission officers and athletic liaisons regarding the unique application process for the student-athlete.
  • If necessary, communicating with the college coach to verify interest in the student-athlete.
  • Providing a college athletic recruiting evening program on a biennial basis for Campbell Hall families that includes local college coaches and recruiting experts.
  • Offering a biennial, on-campus, lunchtime program on college athletic recruiting for interested 9-12 grade students.
  • Assisting students with navigating the NCAA Eligibility Center’s website and Eligibility Center registration.
  • Guiding student-athletes in course selection to ensure academic eligibility for NCAA Division I, II, and III collegiate athletic programs.
