    Dear Elementary School Families,

We are so excited about the Halloween parade on Friday, October 31! Full details are available here and below.

Please note this key information for Friday, October 31 and plan accordingly:

    • No hot lunch
    • No school for grades 7-12
    • Elementary school concludes at 10:30 am (just after the parade and classroom parties)
    Details for Halloween
    7:30 am: Morning childcare opens
8:00 am: Garver Gym opens for parent seating (kindergarten students will sit in the front row of the bleachers; all other grade levels will sit on the floor on either side of the runway)
8:30 am: Students should be in their classrooms
8:45 am: Parade begins in Garver Gym (teachers walk students to the gym)
8:45 - 9:30(ish) am: Students walk the Halloween runway by class.

10:30 am: Dismissal – Childcare will not be available after the parade and there are no after-school activities.

Please help your students select costumes that support our efforts to provide a positive and fun environment. Please also keep in mind that our youngest students may get scared easily by the costumes of older students and we want this to be a fun event for all.

Thank you for following our school-wide costume guidelines:
    • Costumes may not include weapons or representations of weapons
    • Costumes may not have excessive blood or gore
    • Costumes must be culturally sensitive
    • Costumes should not perpetuate racial, cultural, and/or gender stereotypes
    • Costumes should not be excessively revealing, derogatory, disrespectful, or distasteful
    • NO masks for grades K-3
    • Masks are allowed for grades 4-6
    A Note About Photos
All parents, friends, guests are welcome to take photos from their seats on the bleachers during the Halloween parade. Please do not get up to take photos. Each class will have designated photographers who will take photos of every student during the parade.

If you have specific questions, please ask your child’s teacher. We look forward to a "spooktacular" event!
