• Sign the Elementary School Handbook Acknowledgment Form Without Delay

  Thank you to the families who have already signed the handbook acknowledgment form. If you have not yet done so, please read through the handbook and sign the form as soon as possible.

• Last Chance to Submit CH Early Decision Applications!

  Sibling families, faculty, and staff who plan to apply to grades K, 7, and 9 for the 2027-28 school year, there’s still time to take advantage of the early decision application! To be eligible, remember to apply by Wednesday, September 30, then complete an interview and submit all paperwork (recommendation forms and a transcript) by Monday, October 26. Early decision notifications will be sent in the first week of December. For all other applicants, our decisions will be released on March 12, 2027. For more information, please contact the Admissions Office.

• Be Part of Team Drew

  For over three decades, Drew and Gretchen Kempf have been beloved members of the Campbell Hall community. In 2024, Drew was diagnosed with CMML, a rare type of blood cancer. This past August, Drew learned he would need to undergo a second bone marrow transplant and will begin treatment at City of Hope in October.
  
  How You Can Help!

  • Join the registry: Order a free, 2-minute cheek-swab kit sent to your door to see if you are a stem cell match for Drew or another patient in need.
  • See if you’re a match: Visit the Team Drew booth at the Homecoming Carnival on Saturday, September 26 from 12 - 5 pm to complete a quick cheek swab.
  • Show your support: Send a short video message to cheer Drew on during his hospital treatment, or sign up to volunteer by emailing TeamDrewCH@gmail.com.

• New Library Resource: LAPL Student Success Card

  The Ahmanson Library is partnering with the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) to provide all Campbell Hall students with an LAPL Student Success Card, giving students access to digital books, magazines, newspapers, music, movies, homework help, test prep, and more. Students may also borrow up to five books at a time from LAPL locations with no fines or late fees.

  
  To create the cards, LAPL will receive limited student and family information needed for registration. LAPL does not retain this information after the cards are assigned, and it is not shared or sold.

  
  No action is required if you would like your student to participate.
  
  

  If you do not want your student to receive a Student Success Card, please email Library Director Jennifer Lutzky at lutzkyj@campbellhall.org by Wednesday, September 30. Please include your student’s full name, grade, and “LAPL Opt Out” in your message.

• Human Development Parent Information Meetings Begin This Week

  Elementary school parents/guardians are warmly invited and encouraged to join Sarah Huss, Director of Human Development + Parent Education, for an overview about your student’s developmental milestones and the Human Development Curriculum. Receive resources and expert advice on supporting your student’s healthy development. Please refer to the schedule below for dates and Zoom links.

• 6th Grade Families Are Invited to the Admissions Secondary Open House

  6th grade families, are you eager to see what lies ahead in middle school? The Admissions Office invites students and parents to join us at our upcoming Middle and High School Open House on Saturday, October 3 from 9 am - 12 pm.

  
  Highlights will include an opportunity to speak with administrators, faculty members, and parent ambassadors, a chance to attend sample classes, and interactive presentations that showcase the energy and excitement of our community. While these events are designed primarily for prospective families, they also provide a wonderful opportunity for current Campbell Hall families to explore the dynamic classes and programs that make our middle school so engaging.

• Challah on Fridays Is Coming Soon

  Welcome back! This school year is off to a great start, and we have a wonderful opportunity to share. The Jewish Family Alliance is partnering with CH parent Melissa Presby (P ’30) of Melissa’s Challahs to bring fresh challah to our community on Fridays, perfect for Shabbat dinner!

  • Challah Tasting: Stop by to sample Melissa’s Challah at the Homecoming Carnival on Saturday, September 26 from 12 - 5 pm.
  • Sign-up Opens: Beginning Monday, October 5, purchase challah for pick-up on Fridays (pricing + sign-up forms to follow).

• Julie Bowen Introduces Campbell Hall’s First-Ever Giving Day

• Food on Fridays Returns October 2

  We are thrilled to announce that Food on Fridays will return this school year, beginning on Friday, October 2! Food on Fridays is an opportunity for the entire elementary school community to help people in need by donating to the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry. Non-perishable food donations and paper grocery bags will be collected on Fridays during carpool drop-off. Items can also be dropped off at any point during the week in front of the Elementary Office.
  
  For the month of October, the pantry's greatest needs are peanut butter, hearty soups/chili, snacks/energy bars, and canned pet food. Please add these items to your grocery lists, if you are able, and remember that all non-perishable food donations are welcome and needed. Thank you to our sixth graders for getting us started this October!
  
  Each month, a different grade will spearhead our efforts by holding signs during Thursday morning drop-off to remind the community to bring in items, and by collecting and delivering those items to the pantry on Fridays.

• Save the Date for Centering Latinx Voices and Narratives

  Mark your calendars for the 5th Annual Centering Latinx Voices and Narratives Symposium on Saturday, November 14 from 9 am - 2 pm at Campbell Hall. This year’s theme is “Raíces Profundas, Sueños Infinitos: Standing Tall in the Face of Tomorrow.” This symposium is open to all educators, students (grades 9-12), parents and family members, alumni, and allies interested in amplifying the contributions of the Latinx community within K-12 education and beyond.
