Financial Aid Endowment in Honor of the Gospel Choir

25 Years of Voices. A Future of Opportunity.

When more than 300 children’s voices join together in song and praise, the result is pure inspiration.

Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, Campbell Hall’s annual Gospel Concert is a joyful and affirming expression of the school’s vibrant community. What began as a call from Chaplain Richards to Patrice Chanel Grace quickly grew into a whole-school celebration and is now recognized as a signature event for many in the Campbell Hall community.

The Gospel Choir, comprised of students in grades 5-12, reflects the rich diversity of Los Angeles and Campbell Hall itself. Each year, the concert draws more than 1,700 audience members, along with hundreds more who tune in via livestream. This unforgettable evening of rejoicing is a reminder that through shared joy and uplifted voices, a community is strengthened.

An Endowment for Good

At Campbell Hall, socioeconomic diversity and equity are central to our mission, and a robust financial aid program is essential to ensuring access for talented students from all backgrounds. Thanks to a generous lead gift of $50,000 from Michael and Deanna Schlesinger, the Financial Aid Endowment in Honor of the Gospel Choir has been launched to strengthen this commitment. With approximately 30% of Gospel Choir participants receiving financial aid, contributions to this endowment directly support the students whose voices help define this beloved program.

Campbell Hall now invites leadership gifts to grow the Financial Aid Endowment in Honor of the Gospel Choir to $250,000–$500,000 during this initial phase, laying the foundation for an endowed fund of $1 million or more. Once fully funded, annual earnings will provide ongoing support for financial aid. In addition, Gospel Choir performances will continue to build the endowment through point-of-purchase contributions, ensuring lasting impact for generations to come.

Together, we can ensure every student has the opportunity to belong, dream, and sing.
