How long have you been a teacher? 29 years
How long have you been teaching at Campbell Hall? 23 years in two different stints, the most recent beginning in 2011.
What do you love most about teaching at Campbell Hall? The kids, plain and simple. There really is something deeply rooted in the foundations of this place that attracts and nurtures young people capable of compassion, kindness, dazzling bursts of creativity, and levels of whole-being engagement that inspire, challenge, and make me laugh every single day.
What drew you to teaching? It is the only work I have ever found that is as demanding, immersive, thrilling, joyful, and soul-enriching as writing, which is the other work to which I have devoted my life. I came for the stories, in other words, then stayed for the kids.
