Erik Rasmussen ’96

Pursuing DEI in Collegiate Athletics
Erik Rasmussen ’96 was selected to be part of Occidental College’s Commission on Athletics to conduct a comprehensive examination of the school’s intercollegiate athletic activities and programs. Consisting of 15 members of the Occidental community, Erik, as an Occidental alumnus and baseball student-athlete is one of two alumni on the team. Erik notes: "As a result of the pandemic and the social activism of the past year, in addition to Occidental dropping its football program, the school formed this commission of faculty, current student-athletes, current athletics staff, and former athletes together to make recommendations about how the school can be more diverse and competitive at the collegiate level."
