Kira Brekke ’09

Lawyer Continues Advocacy
Kira Brekke ’09, Civil Rights Attorney at the California Civil Rights Law Group, specializes in employment law, focusing on sexual harassment and racial discrimination cases. Before entering the legal field, Kira established a distinguished career as a journalist, producer, and editor. Based in New York City and Washington, D.C., she reported for The Huffington Post and ThinkProgress, covering pivotal stories in politics, social justice, and LGBTQ+ equality. While an undergraduate at the University of Southern California, she contributed to the Academy Award-nominated documentary The Invisible War, which brought national attention to the epidemic of sexual assault within the U.S. military.
