Tuition + Financial Aid

Option I: Single payment of full year’s tuition due in June.
Option II: Tuition divided into two payments due June and November.
Option III: Ten monthly payments beginning June and ending in March.
A 4% service charge applies to monthly payments. The service charge is waived for families participating in the Financial Aid Program.

Campbell Hall is committed to providing a life-changing education to children whose families would not otherwise be able to afford it. Our financial aid budget of more than 10 million dollars annually demonstrates the strong commitment to access and inclusion by the Board of Directors and the School. Nearly 60% of our tuition assistance grants are dedicated to families making under $200,000 annually. It is therefore the expectation of the School that families seeking financial assistance will minimize discretionary expenses before applying for financial aid.

To be eligible for the Financial Aid Program at Campbell Hall, the student’s family must file their U.S. personal tax returns on a timely basis and provide this documentation to the Financial Aid Office. Additionally, for all enrolled students, the family’s tuition billing account must be kept current with the Business Office. At this time we are unable to make grants to non-U.S. tax filers or to international students.

Current Campbell Hall families that are not already participating in the Financial Aid Program may become eligible by demonstrating a permanent, significant, and unforeseeable change in their financial circumstances. Examples of requests that are typically considered include divorce, disability, or death of a financial provider.

For many families, annual income is weighted the most heavily in the process, with the number of children in tuition charging schools also playing a significant role.

While there are no set income limits, we can share that a family of 3 that resides in one household, with one child in tuition-charging school, is unlikely to qualify for a grant if their income exceeds $450,000 annually. Please note that this is only a guideline, and each family’s unique circumstances can lead to different outcomes. Grant amounts vary but can range from $5,000 all the way to full tuition. Our average grant is $36,000. Families who receive tuition discounts of 50% or more typically have an annual income below $300,000. Please contact our office if you would like to discuss your particular situation.

School fees are not covered by financial aid, however, families participating in the Financial Aid Program receive many benefits: the $2,000 new students fee is waived, the 4% service charge for the 10-payment plan is eliminated, and a reduced deposit amount is offered. In addition, there are many covered non-tuition expenses.

Families applying for financial aid must complete an application through Clarity, our third party application provider. A one-time application fee of $60 is required and collected by Clarity, however, this application may then be shared with any other school using the Clarity platform. Income-based fee waivers are available for those who qualify and Clarity will automatically apply those to your application if you do. You will complete one application per household, even if applying for multiple children.

All parent(s)/guardian(s), whether custodial or non-custodial, must complete an application through Clarity. This is true even in the case of parent(s)/guardian(s) that are divorced, separated, or never married. Limited exceptions may be made for families experiencing extenuating circumstances. Please contact the Financial Aid Office if you believe this may apply to you.

After you submit your admissions application you should then file your financial aid application. The admissions application fee of $150 will be waived upon request; check the box on the admissions application to indicate that you plan to apply for aid and are requesting a fee waiver. Please note that we are unable to consider requests for aid once admissions decisions have been sent.

Families with students in all grades K-12 are eligible to participate in the Financial Aid Program, however, financial aid for new students is most available at kindergarten, 7th, and 9th grades, with preference typically given to older students.

While Campbell Hall is fortunate to have a generous financial aid budget, the number of qualified applicants requesting assistance consistently exceeds available funds. Initial admissions assessments are made without considering if a family has requested financial aid. At that point, the Financial Aid Committee determines the allocation of funds for qualified new students. If a student qualifies for admission but the school is unable to meet the family’s demonstrated need, that student will be placed in the wait pool.

For this reason, we recommend that families only apply for financial aid if they truly have no other means of meeting the cost of attendance. It is the School’s expectation that families first explore all available options such as reducing discretionary spending, drawing from investments, or utilizing other resources before applying for aid.

When a family applies for admission without requesting financial aid, it signals their intention and ability to meet the full cost of attendance both now and in the foreseeable future. While Campbell Hall does maintain an emergency fund to assist families facing unforeseen economic hardship, this fund is limited and reserved for extenuating circumstances beyond a temporary income loss. To qualify, families must demonstrate that the financial need was unforeseen, is likely to be long-term, and did not exist at the time of admission.

We do not have a merit scholarship program at this time. Special talents in academics, athletics, or the arts and other outstanding achievements are taken into consideration during the admissions process and are part of determining if the Admissions Committee would like to offer a place at Campbell Hall to a particular student. However, the amount of any financial aid grant that is offered is based solely on a family’s financial circumstances.
