• Reminders About Middle School Pickup

  The middle school day ends at 3:40 pm. Students may not arrive at the pickup area until closer to 3:45 - 3:50 pm. Please do not arrive early to wait in the line. If your student is not in the Blue Playground area by the time you arrive at the front of the line, you will be asked to move your vehicle. Unfortunately, we do not have parking available on the other side of the playground so you will be looped back around onto Laurel Canyon.
  
  If you are also picking up an elementary student, please remind your middle school student to pick up their sibling from childcare. If the elementary student is not in the Blue Playground area by the time you reach the front of the line, you will be asked to loop back around. Arrangements can be made with the childcare staff for students to pick up their siblings directly.  
  
  Thank you for your patience as we adjust to the new flow of traffic.

• Last Chance to Submit CH Early Decision Applications!

  Sibling families, faculty, and staff who plan to apply to grades K, 7, and 9 for the 2027-28 school year, there’s still time to take advantage of the early decision application! To be eligible, remember to apply by Wednesday, September 30, then complete an interview and submit all paperwork (recommendation forms and a transcript) by Monday, October 26. Early decision notifications will be sent in the first week of December. For all other applicants, our decisions will be released on March 12, 2027. For more information, please contact the Admissions Office.

• Be Part of Team Drew

  For over three decades, Drew and Gretchen Kempf have been beloved members of the Campbell Hall community. In 2024, Drew was diagnosed with CMML, a rare type of blood cancer. This past August, Drew learned he would need to undergo a second bone marrow transplant and will begin treatment at City of Hope in October.
  
  How You Can Help!

  • Join the registry: Order a free, 2-minute cheek-swab kit sent to your door to see if you are a stem cell match for Drew or another patient in need.
  • See if you’re a match: Visit the Team Drew booth at the Homecoming Carnival on Saturday, September 26 from 12 - 5 pm to complete a quick cheek swab.
  • Show your support: Send a short video message to cheer Drew on during his hospital treatment, or sign up to volunteer by emailing TeamDrewCH@gmail.com.

• New Library Resource: LAPL Student Success Card

  The Ahmanson Library is partnering with the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) to provide all Campbell Hall students with an LAPL Student Success Card, giving students access to digital books, magazines, newspapers, music, movies, homework help, test prep, and more. Students may also borrow up to five books at a time from LAPL locations with no fines or late fees.

  
  To create the cards, LAPL will receive limited student and family information needed for registration. LAPL does not retain this information after the cards are assigned, and it is not shared or sold.

  
  No action is required if you would like your student to participate.
  
  

  If you do not want your student to receive a Student Success Card, please email Library Director Jennifer Lutzky at lutzkyj@campbellhall.org by Wednesday, September 30. Please include your student’s full name, grade, and “LAPL Opt Out” in your message.

• 8th Grade Families Are Invited to the Admissions Secondary Open House!

  8th grade families, are you eager to see what lies ahead in high school? The Admissions Office invites students and parents to join us at our upcoming Middle and High School Open House on Saturday, October 3 from 9 am - 12 pm.

  
  Highlights will include an opportunity to speak with administrators, faculty members, and parent ambassadors, a chance to attend sample classes, and interactive presentations that showcase the energy and excitement of our community. While these events are designed primarily for prospective families, they also provide a wonderful opportunity for current Campbell Hall families to explore the dynamic classes and programs that make our high school so engaging.

• Julie Bowen Introduces Campbell Hall’s First-Ever Giving Day

• RSVP for 7th Grade Grandparents’ & Special Friends’ Day

  Invitations for 7th Grade Grandparents’ & Special Friends’ Day have been mailed for the Monday, October 12 event. Please encourage 7th grade grandparents to RSVP with the details requested on their invitation. Tables are pre-assigned for each student and their guests, and we may not be able to accommodate walk-ins on the morning of the event. If your child does not have a grandparent, they are welcome to invite a special friend. Simply email Hayley Dox-DaCosta with their information.
  
  

  Friendly Reminders:

  • Due to extremely limited parking and capacity limits, this event is only for grandparents and special friends.
  • If you'd like to volunteer at the registration table or with food distribution, please email Faith Marshall.
  • This is a regular school day, and school uniforms are required for all students, regardless of whether they have guests attending.
  • Participating 7th graders will join their guests in Garver Gym during their lunch and Advisory periods for a catered lunch and special activities. Once the event concludes, students will proceed to their next class as guests depart campus.

• Middle School Play Auditions Coming Soon: October 12-15

  Auditions for the middle school play, The Hope and Heartache Diner, will be held from Monday, October 12 – Wednesday, October 15 in the Drama Lab (Room 7204). The script is available here. Please email Mr. Meade or Mr. Rowland for more information.

  
  The Hope and Heartache Diner, tells a heartwarming story of Felix who decides to work the “full run” or the open-to-close shift at their family-owned diner the day before departing for college. Co-workers and customers interact with Felix throughout the marathon shift (as do the ghosts of her grandparents), showing the ups and downs of everyday life, the need to be part of a larger community, and the understanding that it’s ok to leave the nest… at some point. Full of laughs and love, The Hope and Heartache Diner is the full-run of the human experience!

• Save the Date for Centering Latinx Voices and Narratives

  Mark your calendars for the 5th Annual Centering Latinx Voices and Narratives Symposium on Saturday, November 14 from 9 am - 2 pm at Campbell Hall. This year’s theme is “Raíces Profundas, Sueños Infinitos: Standing Tall in the Face of Tomorrow.” This symposium is open to all educators, students (grades 9-12), parents and family members, alumni, and allies interested in amplifying the contributions of the Latinx community within K-12 education and beyond.
