Study Skills Prep for High School Humanities

for rising 9th graders
(1-WEEK WORKSHOP)
This 1-week course will cover practical study skills to give students a solid foundation for high school humanities classes. Sessions will begin with time devoted to building upon each student’s study skills. Coursework will focus on topics such as organization, active reading, note taking, brainstorming, test preparation, and research. The second portion of each class will apply what students learn to the required summer English reading. At the end of the course, students will have strengthened their academic skills for high school level coursework and they will have completed the summer assignment for English. This is a not-for-credit class. (NOTE: Space is limited.)
