Student Workshops

Associate Head of Community Engagement, Christopher Dennis, presented a workshop for grades 3-6 on the power of an apology. Students had the chance to deepen their understanding of the meaning of an apology as a means of embracing empathy and healing.
Christopher Dennis also joined Kena Dorsey, High School DEIJ Coordinator, to lead a series of virtual "safe spaces" for secondary students. The sessions were offered during advisory, and were open to all students. Sessions provided a quiet space for students to share how some of the recent world events around racial and social injustice have impacted them, or students could show up as allies in support of those in the community who have experienced personal trauma around the recent police killings of Duante Wright, Adam Toledo and the culmination of the trial for the murder of George Floyd.
