Alumnus guest teaches, sharing GIS expertise

CH alum Evan Bowser (’15) guest taught an interactive lesson on Geographic Information System (GIS) in Mr. Frank’s CHAI Environmental Science honors classes.
GIS is software that can manipulate geospatial information as a means of communicating layered datasets through imagery. Evan studied Urban Planning and Sustainability at Ohio University, earning a BS with GIS certification in 2019 and has been working with Mr. Frank and our student group the CH Evergreens on sustainability initiatives this winter. Students in CHAI ES honors used ARCGIS software to create and share layered maps showing varied datasets for Los Angeles county.
