#CHTeacherTuesday

Jim Meade / Middle School Teacher
What subjects do you teach?
I teach Global Citizens in the Middle School and I am the director of the Middle School Extracurricular Theater Program.

How long have you been a teacher?
I have been a teacher for roughly 15 years, give or take (I was an adjunct faculty member for a couple colleges and universities, so I was not full-time then!).

How long have you been teaching at Campbell Hall?
This is my thirteenth year of teaching at Campbell Hall. Most would graduate after this year - I don’t see that happening for me!

What do you love most about teaching at Campbell Hall?
I love that CH feels like another home to me - it’s a fantastic community. I’m with current and former students, along with faculty/staff/administration all day and they’re all people I love to be around. Handshakes from students, smiles, jokes in the faculty center, conversations with people - it all makes me really happy. My dad said, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.” I’m sure someone else has said that as well, but they’re not my dad, so they’re not as cool.

What do you love to do outside of school?
I am in a band with my brother and frequently, we play with three CH alumni. They’ve elevated our band in so many ways - taking us from the dream in our head and making it a reality. I love playing music. My brother and I function on the same frequency - we often share the same brain - and when we play together, it’s just magic. We write music - any kind, from rock to country to folk - and we love to be out there, playing music for people.
