WHAT WAS THE TRANSITION INTO CAMPBELL HALL MIDDLE SCHOOL LIKE?

From the very beginning, I felt really welcome and supported at Campbell Hall. Before I started 7th grade, I participated in QuickStart* (which I highly recommend to everyone) where I made a lot of great friends who I still see in socially distanced hangouts and on Zoom during school.

*QuickStart is an optional summer program that introduces rising 7th grade students to faculty, classes, activities, and most importantly, each other.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF CAMPBELL HALL’S TEACHERS?
I like all my teachers. They are all super nice and want to make sure you understand the concepts they are teaching. Mr. Enright, my advisor, is really funny and goofy. I love my dance teacher, Ms. Turner. She is super sweet and connects with everyone on a personal level. I’m pretty good at math though it’s not my favorite subject, but I love my teacher, Mr. Kahale, so that makes it really fun.

WHAT CLASSES ARE YOU ENJOYING THE MOST?
I really love English because I have an interest in creative writing and I’m a big reader. I also love my exploratory class, Drawing. I have always enjoyed drawing, collaging, and sculpture which I have done since I was young. I’m a very creative person and it’s great to have that outlet during the school day. This is the first year I’ve taken Human Development and it’s really nice because just like in advisory, you have someone to turn to with questions and issues.

TELL US ABOUT THE ARRAY OF OPPORTUNITIES YOU HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF SO FAR?
I am the Student Council Vice President and we have been busy planning the middle school Spirit Weeks and a fall party as well as a presentation for an upcoming chapel on servant leaders. Student Council is an open environment where everyone comes up with great ideas and works really well together. I also love performing and have been acting since I was four, so I hope to be a part of the theatre production, The Hope and Heartache Diner, this year. I am also part of the Dance Club and plan to take choir in the second semester.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF CHAPEL?
It’s one of the only times where the whole middle school comes together at one time. I think it’s great that chapel focuses on different religions and that it maintains the feeling of community which is a great thing to have my first year.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT CAMPBELL HALL?
I love how easy it is to make great personal connections with the teachers.
