LEED Gold-Certified

Campbell Hall is committed to environmental sustainability in all its facets. This is best exemplified with the school’s newest building, The Spielberg Family Arts & Education Center (AEC). In addition to providing students with state-of-the arts facilities to explore their interests and talents in a wide array of visual and performing arts, the building is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold-certified, providing a safer and healthier environment in which to study and learn.

Designed by Gensler, an architectural firm renowned for its expertise in education design and innovative sustainability practices, the AEC was constructed with materials and features that comply with the highest green standards:

  • High quality air filtration system used to remove particulates and pollutants
  • Extensive natural day lighting in classrooms to limit the need to use electric light
  • Extensive use of renewable materials in the construction
  • Significant reduction in water and energy use
  • FSC certified wood
  • Non-toxic (low/no VOC) paints, coating, adhesives, and sealants
  • Native and drought-resistant plants

Campbell Hall continues to find innovative ways to lower the school’s carbon footprint and to promote sustainable practices. The Arts & Education Center demonstrates the school’s values and its commitment to these endeavors.
