With a history of more than 1,800 years, dumplings (饺子 jiǎozi) are a traditional dish eaten on Chinese New Year, as they express aspirations for a better life and hopes for certain blessings. Learn about the cultural meaning of dumplings, both their shape and the symbolism of the stuffings, as we stuff, pleat, and cook our way to prosperity.
