Golf Information
The middle school golf team is co-ed and will be comprised of both seventh and eighth graders. The age or grade of the golfer will have no effect on the number of matches he/she participates in.
The team will continue to travel to Weddington Golf Course and Van Nuys Golf Course for most of our practices. Please check the Campbell Hall Athletic Webpage (regularly) for the most up to date information. Tryouts will be held on Tuesday 2/19, Wednesday 2/20, and Thursday 2/21. Students trying out are expected to attend all 3 days, if possible. The final roster will be selected by taking the top golfers with the best averages from those 3 days. We will have a better idea of the number of players that will be on the team after tryouts. After tryouts, the team will have practices or matches 2 – 3 days a week from February 28th through the first week of May (excluding non-school days). The Golf Finals will be the first or second Saturday of May.
Practices will be held 2-3 days a week. The players will be transported by bus to their destination immediately after school to the designated course. Practice will consist of practice matches against other schools or practice at the driving range and putting green. Practice will begin as soon as the team arrives at the course and will end at 5:30 p.m. Practice may end early, if it gets too dark before the scheduled finish time. At that time, any athlete who is not picked up by his/her parents or their regular carpool, will ride the bus back to Campbell Hall for pick-up. A player will only be released to his/her parents, unless he/she has brought a note from his/her parents stating otherwise to the Middle School Office. On practice days, the bus will return to Campbell Hall in time for the late bus. On days of a match, the time and location of the match will determine if the team will return to Campbell Hall in time for the late bus.
The game/match schedule will be posted after the scheduling meeting takes place on Feb. 26th.
