Alumna advocates for policy on climate change

Sophia Yurdin ’16, visited the CH Evergreens, a high school club dedicated to promoting schoolwide sustainability initiatives and education.
Sophia works with the nonprofit and nonpartisan advocacy organization Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL), to effect climate change solutions through national policies. She shared one such piece of legislation that CCL is currently promoting to members of both sides of the aisle. The Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act (H.R. 763) is a policy that will reduce America’s emissions by at least 40% in the first 12 years while encouraging American technology innovation and ingenuity. Co-president of the CH Evergreens Ella F. ’21 writes: “As citizens, it is our duty to hold our political leaders accountable for passing climate legislation that will help us create a healthier world.”
