Grammar / Study Skills

Designed to focus on the basic study skills unique to the Humanities Program (English and History), including:

  • Note-taking
  • Time management
  • Outlining
  • Setting up a notebook
  • Flash cards
  • Calendars
  • Study strategies for tests and quizzes

Mathematics

Designed to focus on the critical thinking skills integral to the 7th grade mathematics program. Subject matter includes practice with varied mathematical concepts as students explore:

  • Patterns
  • Numeration
  • Probability
  • Permutation
  • Creative logic
  • Mental math
  • Relationships and sequencing
  • Problem solving strategies

Computer Applications

Designed to focus on the technical skills required to complete assignments and class work in the 7th grade. Within a hands-on environment, students explore:

  • The Campbell Hall e-mail system
  • The Junior High and Homework Web Pages
  • Working with files and folders
  • Editing and formatting techniques
  • Changing document appearance
  • Tabs, tables, and columns
  • Margins, toolbars, and shortcuts
  • Entering, copying, and moving data
  • Using formulas and functions
  • Creating and modifying charts

Science

Designed to focus on the basic science skills that are needed for 7th grade Life Science. Students will take a hands-on approach to solving basic problems relating to the Life Science curriculum. Subject matter and lab activities include:

  • Scientific Method
  • Metric Measurements
  • Microscope Work
  • Classification of Plants and Animals
  • Plant and Animal Cells
  • Human Body
  • Basic Problem Solving
