We are devoted to cultivating and sustaining a safe environment that empowers individuals and groups to discover and celebrate their identity. We believe race, ethnicity, religion, culture, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, and socioeconomic status to be examples of what constitutes diversity in our community. Year-round Professional Development Opportunities:
The Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity (S.E.E.D.) Project on Inclusive Curriculum is a professional development program based at the Center for Research on Women at Wellesley College, in Wellesley, Mass. Meetings are held throughout the school year with other teachers to discuss strategies for making school curriculum gender-fair and multicultural. In these meetings, participants read or view resources relating to gender, race, and class relations, and then discuss the implications for the school setting. Topics include multicultural research, teaching methods, curriculum, and school climate.
Location: The Country School, 5242 Laurel Canyon Blvd. North Hollywood, 91607 (just a 3 minute drive north!)
Meetings are held monthly on a weekday evening from 5:00-8:00pm- specific dates TBA.
