Support for the Urban Forest
TreePeople, a non-profit organization on Coldwater Canyon, provides education and reforestation programs in our urban forests. Thousands of pollution-resistant trees are planted in the mountains around Southern California through TreePeople's "Gift of Life" tree dedication program. TreePeople also supports other local programs, such as supplying fruit trees for low-income families and elders, and planting trees at schools through the "Cool Schools" program of Green LA.
Trees not only provide beauty in our cities, economic opportunities, and habitats for wildlife, but they cool the city by shading our homes, they clean the air by absorbing pollutant gases, they save water by shading lawns and slowing evaporation, and provide oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide.
In an era of increased environmental and energy awareness, trees can make a significant contribution to our city.
One Pollution Resistant Tree - $25
One Grove (5 Trees) - $75
