Drama
Campbell Hall’s drama department offers many performance, technical
operations and design opportunities for K-12 students. There
are fall and spring performances of straight plays, musicals
and student directed work in the high school and junior high
school, as well as technique based courses built into the
curriculum. We also offer elementary after school adjunct
drama courses in story theatre and improvisation for K-3rd
grade.

Welcome to CH Theatre Arts

What nurtures the theatre department's strength is the student's very unique and intimate bond. I know I'm safe to take emotional and physical risks for my character when I’m surrounded by this loving and supportive community. Theatre for me has been an oasis away from the stress and politics of the typical high school experience. In the theatre or the drama room, I'm free to be me. I've learned to take my negative emotion, put it into my character, and leave it on the stage. I consider my experiences in the drama department as a vital part in helping me mature into the person I am today.

I was in the junior high production of Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Into the Woods. I loved that everyone became so close at the end and continue to be friends…

Acting as someone else is the absolute best way to learn about yourself. You can never act too much.

I believe that acting is a form of Psychology: probing into the human mind and adapting what you find into something beautiful---a work of art.

I have been in Beauty And The Beast and Into The Woods. I loved connecting with
the cast and just having fun acting. I learned how to speak in front of other people
and to be myself with the cast and my friends.

In Beauty and the Beast and Into the Woods I learned that I could get over my stage
fright. CH is very accepting of new actors.
