Strategy & Goals

Technology changes so rapidly that it is challenging to create any plans based on an extended time frame. Although new technologies and programs may emerge, our objectives, strategies, and goals are firm. To keep our Technology Plan current, it will be updated annually.

Students

  • Developing research and communication skills
  • Transforming information into applicable knowledge
  • Taking responsibility for their own learning
  • Becoming collaborative and reflective thinkers

Faculty

  • Integrating technology thoughtfully and purposefully to enhance student learning
  • Incorporating ISTE standards and the TAG model as appropriate
  • Using online technologies to communicate with peers and students
  • Operating computer technologies to handle administrative tasks

To ensure basic technology skills all teachers are required to regularly use computer technology. Faculty members already submit computer generated report cards. Weekly schedules and daily bulletins are available online. School communication will increasing utilize e-mail including electronic distribution lists. For instructional usage, faculty will explore opportunities for curricular integration of the Campbell Hall Technology Integration Standards (based on the ISTE Standards) and the Technology Activity Guide (TAG) in their grade level teams.

The Campbell Hall Technology Integration Standards provide a framework for linking student performance to standards. The standards include issues revolving around technology and responsible use to general technology skills. Adoption of the Campbell Hall Technology Integration Standards provides a rich and broad foundation on which our students can live, learn, and work successfully in an increasingly complex and information rich society.

The Technology Activity Guide is designed to promote higher thinking skills while getting the most out of technology. TAG-based activities aim to take students beyond the traditional paper-and-pencil response of an essay or research paper created for the teacher as the audience. It is simple and powerful, yet flexible enough to be used across subjects and grade levels.
